  1. Summary of job contents

Responsible for leading the warehouse through Lean operating system principles in the areas of automated warehouse activities, internal logistic support to operations and outbound shipping. Responsible for the supervision of employees, overseeing multiple areas including receiving, picking, packing, kanban/raw material supply to operations and manual pack.  Responsible for the daily performance of these areas, implementing lean principles and driving continuous improvement.  Duties also include implementation of operating procedures, equipment maintenance, employee safety, quality and ISO requirements.

2.  Key accountabilities

  • Direct and control warehouse activities to meet/exceed KPI’s to include:
    • Meet or Exceed company KPI’sLead through Lean operating system principles
    • Maintain adherence to company policies, safety and good housekeeping practices
    • Manage the warehouse staff activities to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met in receiving, picking, packaging, production logistics and customer service – Team of 4 direct reports and 50+ employees
    • Ensure that all quality expectations are met and effectively support internal and external customer expectations
    • Effectively utilize warehouse management systems to control inventory, warehouse orders, operator productivity, cycle counts, quality and process improvements
    • Prepare budget and operate within approved budget
    • Ensure that all machines and equipment are operated in a safe manner
    • Manage utilization of facilities for storing and distributing material
    • Follow and maintain work instructions per ISO standards and requirements
    • Responsible for conducting annual performance appraisals
    • Assist in the monitoring of inventory to maximize warehouse space
    • Responsible for cycle counts of inventory
    • Responsible for maintaining a high level of security in the warehouse area
    • Responsible for proper use of equipment and equipment maintenance
    • Responsible for the proper usage of all material handling equipment (forklifts, ASRS cranes, conveyors, hoists, and moveable storage racks) per Festo safety requirements and ISO standards
  • Overtime may be required as business needs mandate. (limited travel may apply)
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
  • Responsible for effective and proper implementation of lean principles including process standard work, leader standard work, visual controls, 5’s, 7 wastes, etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety and quality through effective root cause/corrective action
  • Continuous improvement approach in warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs
  • Develop Team in lean principles
