Job Description:

General Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the completion of planned, preventive, and unplanned maintenance on a highly advanced automated material handling system in a distribution center environment. The ideal ASRS Tech is focused on maximizing system up-time and performance through safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.


Primary Responsibilities

  • First and foremost, put safety above all else.
  • Maximize the performance of our Automated Storage Retrieval System with emphasis on preventative maintenance and system breakdown response.
  • Participate in a broad array of electrical and mechanical tasks with minimal supervision
  • Operation and fault correction of automated material handling equipment in a fast production environment.
  • Assist in the installation of new or refurbished electrical components and various motors and drives.


Scheduling & Travel

  • Must be able to work all shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Mandatory overtime may be required due to operational requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing
  • Working at heights of up to 80-100 feet wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE
  • Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs. unassisted

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience

  • Required: High school diploma with at 1-2 years experience in relevant electrical and/or mechanical role.
  • Required: 2-4 years experience in relevant electrical and/mechanical role.
  • Experience maintaining automated systems in a light industry or distribution center environment is strongly desired.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong electrical (3-Phase, 480V, DC and 24V controls) and mechanical skills
  • Familiarity with electrics/mechanics in drive technology (motors/gears)
  • Familiarity with control technology (PLC /controls/inverters)
  • Knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuring
  • Comfort working with wide assortment of computer systems (Microsoft Office Suite, proprietary system monitoring programs, etc.)
  • Ability to work in team environment
