Job Description:

Support Prototype, Pre-Production and Production manufacturing methods, training and process validation; create detailed work instructions, visual aides and process routing to maintain acceptable production productivity and quality standards; provide computer aided designs (CAD), and/or purchase (make vs buy decisions), for production and assembly tooling using available CAD software; estimate production and assembly setup and run times, material costs, and perform time and motion studies to provide cost analyses and feedback to management; setup cell type manufacturing to minimize setup time and to facilitate increased assembly reaction time to meet customer needs; provide concurrent/simultaneous engineering/design for manufacturing support with Engineering department including design reviews, design changes, shop floor problems, etc.; maintain production master data, BOM and Routings; make changes to production master data as required via the Festo change management system; prepare and coordinate new production assembly release; design and build assembly benches, fixtures, and Kanban supply areas and bin sizes for Kanban storage; support Festo Value Production and the knowledge network teams within the Festo organization; support material control with new product data set up and suggest initial order quantities; assist in the set up of machines and equipment within the assigned production area; act as a subject matter expert with respect to production and process changes; support continuous improvement and shop cleanliness utilizing 6S method; ensure all drawings are at the correct revision level at machine locations; prepare and/or review production work instructions as required to ensure manufacturing specifications are met; and, ensure proper methods are utilized in the assembly process to meet manufacturing specifications. This position is based in Mason, Ohio.

Experience and Skills:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology and 5 years of experience in manufacturing/production engineering. In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, employer will also accept an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology and five years of experience in manufacturing/production engineering. In addition, the following specific skills are required:

5 years of experience with AutoCad Inventor, SAP, MS Office, Share Point navigation, and CCPM;

5 years of experience with Lean/FVP processes; Ergonomic, TPM, and Quality;

5 years of experience with metal materials specifications and applicable DIN and/or ANSI standards;

5 years of experience with problems solving methods (Ishikawa, 5W, etc.); and,

5 years of experience with estimating and cost calculation of production methods.

10% domestic and international travel required.
