Key Responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Lead/Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Empowering the value stream organization to achieve cost and cash savings at local level in accordance with the plant strategy
  • Co-responsible and implementing the qualification of the organization towards OPEX in cooperation with HR (training) in the respective core process at value stream level
  • Help in the development and facilitation of OPEX related training
  • Implementation of an OPEX KPI system, standards, training/consulting at value stream level
  • Ensure successful area performance through tracking and reporting KPI
  • Performance of OPEX assessments at value stream level
  • Occasionally, assist with production duties, train associates, and verify SOP (standard operating procedure) compliance
  • Improve productivity and capability of the workforce through current technology enablement, training, process improvement and identifying best practices (e.g., 5S & Lean methodologies)
  • Innovation and Change (i.e., range and diversity of activities, problems, processes, market dynamics and management challenges that need to be recognized and resolved, improvement of processes, systems, or products)
  • Application of methods with the focus of establishing a value stream-oriented organization according to the production system divided into the core processes
  • Responsible for the development and continuous improvement of core work processes for the realization of value stream maturity levels (OPEX assessment) split into core processes
  • Design and implementation of framework conditions that enable and encourage the organization to make cultural changes (goal: establishment of a learning organization) => Change Manager split into core processes at value stream level
  • Communication with internal and/or external Customers, Suppliers as well as Third Parties (indicate nature and context of client relationship and service delivery, required communication skills, frequency of communication (i.e., infrequent = few times a year, occasional = few times a month, frequent= regular but not daily, continuous = daily)
  • Regular training of the value stream organization and hosting local workshops in accordance with the core processes
  • Regular coordination with internal groups (e. g. value stream managers, department heads, etc.) with partly divergent interests
  • Regular coordination with the local team according to the respective core process
  • People Leadership (i.e., management, motivation, and development of staff as well as teamwork) 
  • High communication, conflict and teamwork skills, independent and responsible operating as well as reliability and commitment
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrated knowledge in manufacturing, assembly procedures, Lean-Tools, and project management.
  • Technical studies with focus on management & production engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineer or technically related field
  • Lean certification preferred
