Job Description:

  • Based on cut slip instructions, selects appropriate size and type steel track from stock rack and sets up abrasive saw accordingly. Cuts material and checks dimensions to ensure accuracy
  • Verifies conformance of all components to specifications
  • Restocks rod and roller track racks as required at abrasive saw
  • Maintains clean work environment
  • Ensures cut slips and production orders are organized and remain with the product throughout the process
  • Operates grinding machine as needed depending on the length of steel track so that they can be spliced together.
  • Matches orders of aluminum profile to steel roller track to run through swaging process. 
  • Applies glue adhesive to the aluminum profile to secure the steel roller track.
  • Changes over swaging machine according to types of profile – swaps out tooling.  Runs swaging machine to adhere the steel roller track to the aluminum profile
  • Demonstrates ability to follow detailed work instructions and product routings
  • Inspecting general appearance of finished product
  • Meet production schedules and program production sequences for optimal producitivity
  • Report any malfunctions or abnormalities and make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment
  • Adjust, set up and process operations accordingly
  • Follow all health, safety, and housekeeping procedures, policies and practices and consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems.
  • Overtime may be required for short term or long term duration, as business needs mandate.
  • International Travel is required by any mode of transportation as determined by company for business reasons such as, but not limited to, skill development, training or a company business event. 

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum one year related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of hand tools.
  • Ability to use computer and word processing and spreadsheet software. 
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Metric system.
  • Experience in machine shop environment.
  • Computer experience.
