The Quality Engineer will support Quality Assurance activities for
for enhancement of the Quality Systems; Quality metrics tracking
& improvement activities, control of inspection and measuring
test equipment, control & analysis of nonconforming material,
internal audits, corrective/preventative actions, and preparation
for external audits, supplier SCARs and site specific supplier
performance assessment. Liaison regarding value steam related
quality topics to other Festo departments, management, and key customers.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Performs timely failure analysis investigations of customer
returned material to determine probable causes or modes of failure
using complete 8-D methodology. Facilitate rework or repair activities.
- Reviews inspection data from incoming parts, initiation of
SCARs with vendors, supporting Festo supplier quality assurance (
SQA) and supplier development (SQD) regarding issues with
purchased parts in the value stream.
- Oversight of gage calibration process for value stream.
- Acts as Quality Assurance representative with both Festo
internal departments and the customer on new product developments
and product failures ( and conducts necessary analysis).
- Supports failure modes effects analysis FMEA and control plan
activities for new product developments.
- Within scope, prepares quality system documents including
operating procedures, work instructions, charts, visual aids,
inspection drawings and reports.
- Identifies negative quality trends and, working with process
owners, initiates appropriate corrective/preventative actions.
- Assures a timely response and feedback to the resolution of
quality issues to management and/or the customer as appropriate.
