Job Description:

Responsible for the daily administration and operation of the Warehouse including but not limited to planning, receiving, shipping and monitoring all activities. Responsible for the supervision of employees, oversees multiple areas including receiving, picking, packing, logistics, and inventory control. Is responsible for the daily performance of the areas of responsibility and reporting actions taken to correct areas of improvement. Responsible for warehouse staffing and assignment of duties as well as implementation of operating procedures, equipment maintenance, employee safety, quality and ISO requirements. Makes recommendations for continuous improvement of warehouse operations and implements lean principles.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervises delegates and evaluates employees in receiving, picking, packaging and shipping areas amongst other departments.

  • Follows and maintains work instructions per ISO standards and requirements.

  • Effectively utilizes warehouse management system to control inventory, warehouse orders, operator productivity, cycle counts, quality and process improvements daily.

  • Analyzes daily management reports.

  • Checks on orders to insure they are picked correctly and on time per customer expectations.

  • Responsible for employee assignment to meet expectations, achieve daily results and complete workload.

  • Responsible for conducting annual performance appraisals in coordination with Director of Logistics.

  • Responsible for achieving and translating company and managerial KPI’s. Accountable for translating company KPI’s to the department/teams.

  • Continuously improves the organization of the working process in the warehouse using the OPEX tools.

  • Ensure processes and standards according to SFM. Conduct and moderate daily small-group meeting based on SFM standard.

  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety and good housekeeping practices.

  • Assists in the monitoring of inventory to maximize warehouse space.

  • Responsible for the training of new hires.

  • Responsible for cycle counts of inventory.

  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of security in the warehouse area.

  • Responsible for proper use of equipment and equipment maintenance.

  • Responsible for the proper usage of all material handling equipment (forklifts, ASRS cranes, conveyors, hoists, and moveable storage racks) per Festo safety requirements and ISO standards.

  • Overtime may be required as business needs mandate.

  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of warehouse management system functionalities

  • 2 years or more of supervisory experience

  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Warehouse Management (SAP)

  • 3-5 years experience in an automated warehouse environment preferred

  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred

  • Project management experience a plus
