Job Description:

Mission: To sustain the production machinery, equipment, assembly areas and support related services that could have a negative impact on production.

Purpose: Manage, repairs, PM’s, ICM, corrective, projects and maintains production machinery and mechanical equipment for preventative, and predictive maintenance.

 

  • Maintain and/or coordinate preventive maintenance system including equipment records, documentation, shop floor notification, and communication of daily operator maintenance requirements.

  • Ability to learn, Observe, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment used in Production for proper function and operation.

  • Replace machine tool belts, drives, PC boards and mechanical parts as required.

  • Contact machine manufactures as required to support the repair of production equipment

  • Read and interpret engineering or production drawings, catalogues, machine manuals, electrical schematics, pneumatic schematics or other pertinent data in order to assemble and/or repair product or machinery in accordance with applicable specifications

  • Track production machine down time caused by preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.

  • Accurately disassemble and/or reassemble product or machinery using mechanical assembly hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, pneumatic drivers, special tools, etc.

  • Use inspection tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, tape measures, torque wrenches, multimeters, plug gauges, dial indicators, thread ring gauges, thread plug gauges, flowmeters, etc.

  • Examine form, fit and function of parts for conformance to specifications

  • Lubricate and clean parts

  • Inventory spare parts and initiate purchase requisitions for parts and machines.

  • Assist with building maintenance when required.

  • Overtime may be required for short term or long-term duration, as business needs mandate with little advanced notice.

  • Travel may be required by any mode of transportation as determined by company for business reasons such as, but not limited to, skill development, training or a company business event.  This would include travel to Corporate Headquarters/Regional (field) offices

  • Ensure production equipment and Machinery meets 6S criteria

  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Lead and oversee Projects

  • Interact with Subcontractors

  • Able to operate forklifts, single man lift, scissor lift, boom lift

  • Maintain CMMS system

  • Use the metric system

  • Attention to detail and tight tolerances

  • Meticulous detail in documentation/update records

  • Split, 2nd shift work schedule

  • Familiar with CNC, mills, lathes

  • Electrical knowledge ability to trouble shoot, AC/DC, 460/3 phase, industrial

  • Be able to have interruptions while working and still be able to focus on task at hand   

Experience and Skills:

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of basic assembly, machine practices and safety standards. 

  • Knowledge of measuring equipment and machine tools.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality system requirements and Festo product preferred.

  • Experience in troubleshooting Electrical and Pneumatic circuit.

  • Knowledge of SAP

  • Experience in warehouse environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the Metric system.

  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office

  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Able to expertly work with tools properly and use of proper techniques when disassembling, moving and reassembling
  • High School Degree or GEDor two to three years related mechanical/electrical assembly experience and/or training;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
