Job Description:

  • Reviews production schedule and estimates of worker hour requirements for completion of jobs assigned.
  • Confers with general manager, sales, management, production, engineering and marketing staff to determine manufacturing feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing projects.
  • Supports 5S and builds in Festo Values Production.
  • Forecasts’ operating costs of department and provides this information to the General Manager.
  • Coordinates flow of information between production facility and other support groups.
  • Recommends required resources; such as machinery, tooling and materials are available for the optimized utilization of personnel and fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Ensures that products are made to specifications.
  • Maintains adherence to Company policies, safety and good housekeeping practices.
  • Confers with Operations Manager, as needed to review work issues that relate to efficiency, quality, cost, ability to manufacture, and feasibility. Identify inefficiencies and recommends solutions accordingly. Implement monitor, track and run teams on process, performance, quality improvement, cost and material reduction. 
  • Supervisors and co-ordinates sub-contact projects with Festo suppliers and partners.
  • Continually reviews policies, procedures and processes to maximize department productivity and morale.
  • Works with Sales to coordinate efforts to provide products and solutions to customers. Develop import / export capabilities for overseas pickup and delivery of Festo product.
  • Oversees shop floor and incoming / outgoing logistics activities as it pertains to manufacturing and quality. Ensures that customer requirements are met, deliveries are on time and costs are contained.
  • Reviews and approves weekly time and attendance records for staff.
  • Establishes, adjusts and implements new processes for optimum workflow and effective use of resources.
  • Recommends and/or implements measures and capital equipment expenditures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Recommends personnel and training to ensure manufacturing and support teams are well-qualified.
  • Communicates with management to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
  • Training of new employees on ISO 9001, 14001 and Safety.
  • Recommend and implement safety practices in manufacturing.
  • Update all relevant safety documentation for manufacturing and communicate all changes to management.
  • Ensure by regular audit, the provision to employees of relevant safety apparel.
  • Maintain records and corrective actions for all safety processes.
  • Ensure that, by personal training, any relevant external statute changes to safety procedures are acted on at each facility in a timely manner.
  • Provide appropriate safety procedure training to all relevant employees.
  • Execute regular safety audits of all locations with feedback to management.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 5 years of experience.
  • 5-10 years within manufacturing environment.
  • 2-5 years production management experience.
  • Direct experience managing day to day efforts of manufacturing, quality, test and development.
  • Familiarity with new product introduction (NPI) and program management experience.
  • Strong understanding of change control, ECO/ECN implementation and ISO.
  • Computer literate.
