Job Description:

  • Assembling and testing of industrial single axis modules, single axis systems, 2D and 3D gantry systems to meet customer applications and requirements.  Works on stationary assembly benches, or  on shop floor by performing the  following  duties.

    • Visual and functionally test handling systems using the HGO Testing System and using fittings, tubing, service units, sensors and accessories to achieve conforming unit.


    • Reads and interprets simple and complex engineering or production drawings, electrical /pneumatic schematics, catalogs, or other pertinent data in order to assemble product in accordance with the applicable specifications.


    • Disassemble and/or reassemble product using mechanical assembly hand tools including screwdrivers, wrenches, pneumatic drivers, special tools, etc.


    • Participates in any and all 6S activities both individually and collectively as required by the 6S Coordinator.


    • Sets up machines and/or assembly equipment within assigned production area.


    • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.


    • Inspects and repairs nonconforming material returns.


    • Evaluates and analyzes nonconforming material returns.


    • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners.


    • Assembles, mounts, tubes and wires parts on handling systems according to systems design specifications.


    • Operates standard machine shop type equipment such as: drill presses, lathes, milling machines, saws to assist in assembly operation.


    • Uses various hand tools and measuring equipment such as: drills, taps, files, calipers and micrometers to build the handling systems.


    • Selects and places product into appropriate boxes for packaging, seals and affixes shipping labels on packed crates.


    • Ability to keep performance standards at a high level.  Performance is "work quality and quantity, attitude, ability to work as a team member and communicating in a positive manner".


    • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Experience and Skills:

Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from two-year college or university; or minimum three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

5-7 Years related experience and /or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in the field of mechatronics, electro-mechanics or robotics

Prior electr-omechanical, mecha-tronics manufacturing and/or assembly experience required

Maintenance and troubleshooting of pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems

Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality system requirements, ISO 14000 environmental management and Festo product
