Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

This is a great opportunity for someone with basic understanding of machining principles and equipment.  We will provide training for motivated candidates that are willing and wanting to learn CNC operations

Sets up and Operate CNC Lathe machines to produce the required parts for pneumatic cylinders. Cuts and machines rods and barrels for use in the assembly of full range of pneumatic cylinders. May need to operate various specialty machinery, i.e. tube cutter, tube polisher, rod saw, flat press, and roller burnishing machine.

 

  • Performs basic CNC machine setups

  • Ability to read basic programs for the CNC Lathe machines

  • Machines production components to critical blueprint tolerances

  • Machine piston rods on CNC Lathe

  • Clean and maintain production equipment as required

  • Perform first piece inspection to drawing specifications

  • Changes tool off sets to maintain dimensions per production drawings

  • Reads inspection equipment in both inch and metric increments (caliper, micrometer, depth gage, Last word indicator, pitch micrometer etc…)

  • Based on production orders, selects appropriate size and type material from stock rack. Presses flat on rod and checks dimensions to ensure accuracy.

  • Verifies conformance of all components to specifications.

  • Uses various types of roller burnishing machines to finish piston rods.

  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required, such as cutting of profile material and assembly of cylinders.

Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and Trade School;
  • 1 year related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiar with metal materials specifications and applicable DIN and/or ANSI.
  • Knowledge of basic machine practices and safety standards.
  • Ability to use computer and word applications and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of measuring equipment
  • Ability to lift/carry/move up to 40 lbs.
