Job Description:

a. Summary of job contents


The Manager of Public Programs & Certifications is responsible for understanding, monitoring, nurturing, influencing, and communicating with people and organizations that may affect the Festo Didactic market. These may include public, civic, charitable, government, public - private partnerships, foundations and other entities directly providing the funding and forming the criteria for utilizing the funding for the traditional and nontraditional Festo Didactic customer or end-customer. The Manager of Public Programs & Certifications also manages other influential relationships with the Festo Didactic market such as Standards Organizations, Certification Boards, school districts, governmental offices or related government registration, nonprofit organizations agencies or authorities. Finally, the Manager of Public Programs & Certifications conceives, creates, develops, promotes and presents the different certification programs related to Festo Didactic solutions within the educational / workforce development community and related industry.




b. Travel


Travel may or may not be required in the U.S. or out of the county and some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.




c. Key accountabilities


  • Writing and creating assessments, positions, frameworks, and strategies to understand, leverage and maximize public policies, trends, opportunities, and positions.
  • Develop, implement, promote, present and keep track of certifications programs on the areas related to Festo Didactic solutions
  • Evaluate, plan, form, or strategize an effective action plan to maximize current public or private opportunities to benefit Festo sales.
  • Work with the internal Festo sales team or sales network to provide education, guidance and intelligence that may help to maximize such opportunities
  • Conduct scoping analysis, design and implement Festo position for such opportunities
  • Support the development of internal training, education, and change management of such relationships and opportunities to champion Festo’s vision, mission, and values
  • Help perform market analysis, trend analysis, and strategy development directed at understanding the value, worth, processes, procedures, and potential of such relationships
  • Prepare or help prepare necessary response documents such as expressions of interest, proposals, formal responses, positions, RFP, registration and other such documentation
  • Support the development of marketing to, influencing, directing, and other relationship management activities to such influences




Experience and Skills:

a. Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge regarding the operations, funding, and cycles of the US government
  • Knowledge of the frameworks, policies, processes, procedures, and operations of the public funding, policies, and grants arena
  • Knowledge of certification programs implemented in the US market
  • Knowledge of regulator frameworks surrounding such practices
  • Strong understand of Micro and Macro economic and political factors
  • Knowledge the US Federal, State, local government agencies
  • Grant writing, development, and response knowledge
  • Analytical acumen and competent research techniques
  • Knowledge of the US educational system, procurement practices, and delivery
  • Experience with proposal writing and response documentation
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience in program development
  • Knowledge of contracts and agreements preferred


b. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree is preferred
  • Proven track record five years of experience with grant writing and management
  • Proven track record on raising money from foundation and government sources
  • Experience with Technical Certifications design and implementation
  • Program development experience preferred
  • Previous experience with fundraising
  • Proven track record on certifications design and implementation
