Job Description:

Oversees activities of Supply Network Planning, Order Management, special customer requirements such as large orders and planned order management conversions. Implements and maintains all related procedures and system definitions. Ensures that the demand plan is analyzed, discussed and aligned with Sales and properly entered in the SNP tools, so that the requirements are properly planned for future needs. Directs and coordinates all activities related to these areas as well proactively engages in adhoc activities to ensure that information to and from sales flows efficiently and effectively. Also responsible for the Order Management functions which deal with the internal communication between Sales and internal processes in operations, to provide proactive and reactive service regarding lead times, order expediting and other sales order related support. Additionally negotiates and manages special customer planning (such as requirements which exceed the normal size:Large Order Process), to properly plan for these in the system and effectively manage expectations with the Sales Team. Responsible for materials life cycle management to ensure proper introduction according to market needs and to ensure that materials are phased out properly to avoid inventory obsolescence.

  • Applies working knowledge and understanding of several diverse disciplines. Participates on and leads multi-functional teams to identify and assess new processes and/or capabilities. This includes planning, tools, risk management and personnel development.

  • The Manager is responsible to make the resources and tools available to insure the achievement of the targets and that the expectations of the HQ in Germany are met in terms of tools and processes. She/he trains, directs and coordinated her/his personnel in order to maximizing customer service, with a high level of forecast/planning accuracy.

  • Directly supervises and decides over the order management strategies of the company in order to insure that service levels are agreed upon and fulfilled. This duty includes the continuous search for better methods to deal with the company`s changing environment. As part of the overall responsibility of the planning of Festo part numbers, directly responsible to interface Sales and Demand Planning in relation to the Supply Network Planning activities.

  • Develops the necessary network in Festo to effectively collaborate and communicate with the organization. Among others, keeps a close link to the Sales, Production and Materials Management departments to develop understanding of the Company’s needs and strategies and adjust her/his areas correspondingly.

  • Oversees all personnel and activities of the Order Management and SNP functions for the company. Establishes individual targets of her/his personnel, continuously monitors overall performance and takes necessary action to achieve goals.

  • Directs and develops the activities around the Sales Order Management process using the SAP YOM functionality, ensuring that the partners align with the established procedure and that the YOM tickets get served in time and form.

  • Proactively analyzed open sales orders to identify potential issues and address root causes for proper resolution.

  • Performs root cause analysis in order to derive continuous improvement efforts. Coaches and develops team members to do the same and work independently.

  • Ensures all organizational activities are carried out in compliance with respective regulations and laws, company policy and procedure.

  • Analyzes and modifies planning figures for finished product or production components in order to meet sales forecast requirements.

  • Participates in New Product Introduction activities and teams, to coordinate efforts of various departments in introducing new products to the market, by considering all elements of the supply chain to offer a financially sound solution. This also includes the corresponding "Phase Out" activities.

  • Active participant of the S&OP cycle, on a regular basis.

  • Prepares and submits department budget figures of the department annually and is responsible to monitor results on a regular basis to ensure that corrections are made in time, where needed.

  • Prepares performance reports in accordance to management requirements and presents these regularly and/or represents department in local or international meetings 2x per year.

  • Responsible for the timely maintenance, development and compliance of all ISO procedures related to the departments, both for internal and external audits.

  • Additional work hours in excess of normal business hours may be necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities. This includes extra efforts required for projects or periods of short duration.

  • Travel may be required via any mode of transportation as determined by Company for business reasons such as, but not limited to, skill development, training or a company business event. This would include travel to Corporate Headquarters/Regional (Field) Offices, or national and international suppliers. Extensive travel may be required to perform essential job responsibilities.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Responsible for the Large Order Team activities.

  • Responsible for the master data related to the areas of responsibility of his/her area, according to the established rules and conventions.

  • Collaborates actively with Sales and Sales Management to address pre-sales activities which may impact the forecast and planning cycles, offers alternatives and collaborates to find solutions which fulfill customers’ needs.

  • Directs and manages the functions related to the planned order conversion function, to properly decide on the conversion of production orders for the production plant or to negotiate/discuss alternative sources via the Materials Management department.

Other duties as assigned by management

Experience and Skills:

  • BS- Industrial engineering or equivalent (technical background desirable) or equivalent experience

  • MBA desirable, alternatively broad experience across various departments of and organization, to allow the understanding of the interactions and dependencies across functions and their relation to business results.

  • 7 years of relevant job experience. Technical , ERP system experience and manufacturing industry knowledge or equivalent combinations of education and experience

  • Inventory and Production Control background preferred. Must have proven experience in materials planning of mechanical and electrical components.

  • SAP Materials Planning (R/3) experience required; DP & SNP knowledge a must.

  • Must have deep knowledge of materials planning (at least 2 years)

  • Festo experience a strong plus, alternatively deep experience leading teams in SNP/APO environments and or Demand Planning

  • Experience in similar industries as Festo.

  • Excellent knowledge of SAP R/3 and APO

  • Excellent oral & written English communication skills

  • Experience training people

  • At least 3 years managing personnel (at least 5 direct reports)

  • English Language mandatory. Additional languages a plus, especially Spanish, due to the developing interactions with Latin American partners.

  • Computer Literate, MS Office, Proficiency Powerpoint and Excel (Pivot, Vlookup),

  • SAP knowledge and experience is a MUST, especially SNP and in general APO
