Summary of job contents


Responsibilities include Programming complete PLC and HMI solutions semi-finished or finished Solution Center (SC) products. This position reports to the Director of Engineering, Solution Center, N.A.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, based upon work load employees 40 hours are flexible daily ) . Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

35% Travel will be required in the U.S. and some out-of-the-area and overnight travel will be expected.

Key accountabilities:

  • Ability to Manage installation and training of automated manufacturing training equipment in the field
  • Perform troubleshooting in case of problems and ensure the PLC or HMI applications are properly managed
  • Develop and Modify the automation applications when design parameters change per customer or market demand
  • Manage PLC Software library ensuring all software changes are documented and standardized
  • Manage Electricity and Automation equipment standardization

Experience

  • College level education is a minimum expectation - or a combination of education and several years of experience in plc programming
  • In-depth knowledge of Electricity, in low voltage, medium voltage and high voltage installations.
  • Good knowledge of local electrical code and standards
  • Good knowledge of Instrumentation and Process Control Systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of HMIs, PLCs,
  • Knowledge of Automotive Manufacturing process, operations and technology being used to assemble parts.
  • Knowledge on MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
  • Knowledge on manufacturing IT, industrial networks and applications
  • Good knowledge of electrical safety
  • Analytical skills in Problem Solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills Allen Bradley PLC Programming (about 75% of the workload)
  • Siemens Programming (about 25% of the workload)
  • Wiring and Set Up
  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers
  • Providing excellent customer service while Commissioning and training at customers site as well as developing
  • Opportunities for further business development
  • Lead in the set-up of new education training modules.

Experience and Skills:

Requirements And Minimum Education Level

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent, preferably electrical engineering.

Skills:

Language Skills: English, Fluent
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office suite, SAP Software, 3D modeling software , 2D, AutoCad electrical
Rockwell PLC & HMI programming will be a key qualifing mark.
Siemens programming will be a plus (Factory Talk )

Knowledge & Experience

Minimum Education: A two or four year degree in the relevant field or an additional certification would be beneficial if need to perform complex tasks like electrical.
Experience: At least 2 to 5 years
Recommended: in PRIO 1) Rockwell Automation, PRIO 2) Siemens Automation
Special experience in a particular industry segment: Flexible Automation, Robots, mobile Robots, CNC, Networks, Database
Special experience in a particular function: Service technician / machine tool integrator / Robotic Integrator

 

Additional relevant competencies
Recommended: Understanding of the Flexible Automation Technology, decentralized Automation and new Paradigms like Cyber Physical Systems and Industry 4.0.
