Job Description:

  • Elaborates and implements a flexible and efficient supply according to the defined commodity strategies within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Identifies cost reduction potentials and derives respective measures to generate them within the area of responsibility.
  • Contributes to design or selection of 3rd part materials with regards to costs, manufacturing technology and risk management.
  • Analyze complex procurement markets and ascertains new supply sources as well as introduces new manufacturing technologies.
  • Ensures early involvement of suppliers in design or development stage and thus, provision of their know-how.
  • Leads or collaborates in transfer, insourcing, outsourcing and cost optimization projects within the assigned area of responsibility including the safeguarding of a respective know-how transfer.
  • Manages and is responsible for a significant purchasing volume (>10 Mio. EUR) as part of he decision-making according to the defined commodity strategies within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Frequently clarifies technical and commercial aspects for the procurement of 3rd party materials or external contract manufacturing, occasionally on-site at suppliers.
  • Supports the development of complex supply chain programs and manufacturing technologies.

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Engineering or equivalent graduation.
  • Several years' work experience in project and or prototype purchasing, project management, supplier management and negotiations.
  • Profound knowledge in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Deep knowledge on global procurement markets, industrial sectors and manufacturing technologies.
  • SAP R/3 and Excel.
  • Excellent written/spoken, technology-enabled English.
  • Work experience with international companies
