Job Description:

  • Supports/implements Quality Assurance processes to ISO 9001:2015 activities. Quality activities include but are not limited to incoming inspection, inspection and measuring test equipment, control of nonconforming material, failure analysis 8 D reports, supplier assessment, corrective/preventative action, and new product development processes, continuous improvement methods.
  • Reads and interprets engineering design or production drawings, catalogues, or other pertinent data and specifications in order to determine inspection and test criteria or methods to assure conformance to applicable specifications and requirements.
  • Functionally and visually inspects and tests product for proper design and operation using pneumatic service units, fittings, valves, valve terminals, cylinders, accessories, electric motors, drives & components, programmable logic controllers, sensors, test fixtures, test software and other required equipment.
  • Inspects, verifies, and records accuracy of measurements and devices using inspection and measuring tools such as vernier calipers, height gages, surface plates, micrometers, tape measures, torque wrenches, torque analyzers, hardness testers, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, plug gages, thread rings, gage blocks, profile-meters, flow-meters, optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines and other required inspection measuring and test equipment.
  • Acts as Quality Assurance representative with Festo internal departments on new product developments and product failures.  Supervise the QA inspections as necessary.
  • Performs timely failure analysis report investigations of customer returned material to determine probable causes or modes of failure.  Coordinates and communicates with Festo-AG and QA manager to resolve quality complaints from interested parties.
  • (FMEA) Supports failure modes effects analysis activities for new product developments. Effective implementation of corrective / preventative actions for previously defective incoming material.
  • Prepares quality system documents including operating procedures, work instructions, charts, visual aids, inspection drawings and reports.
  • Performs Internal Quality Auditor duties for the ISO 9001 based Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Identifies negative quality trends and initiates appropriate corrective/preventative actions.
  • Assures a timely response and feedback to the resolution of quality issues to management and customers.
  • Plans, coordinates, and conducts internal audits of internal departments.  Supports Festo-certification audits.
  • Additional work hours in excess of normal business hours may be necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities. This includes extra efforts required for infrequent or short duration.
  • Travel may be required via any mode of transportation as determined by Company for business reasons such as, but not limited to, skill development, training, or a company business event.   

Experience and Skills:

  • Bechelor's or Technical degree from four-year college or university; or minimum four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience required.
  • Familiar with Copy Exact principles.
  • Working knowledge of the automotive, electronics or semi-conductor industry.
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office, familiarity of AutoCAD, ISO 9001: 2015 requirements and Festo product preferred.
