Responsibilities:

  • Reviews daily production orders and requirements, and assigns work accordingly.

  • Communicates company policies to employees and enforces safety requirements.

  • Analyzes and resolve work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems.

  • Makes and/or encourages suggestions to motivate employees in attaining departmental and company goals.

  • Trains new and/or existing employees in required tasks and introduction of new products.

  • Evaluates employee performance and conducts performance reviews.
  • Ensures engineering work equipment is calibrated to specified requirements.
  • Reads and interprets engineering or production drawings, catalogues, or other pertinent data in order to machine and/or assemble product in accordance with the applicable specifications

  • Uses inspection tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, tape measures, torque wrenches, multimeters, plug gauges, dial indicators, thread ring gauges, thread plug gauges, flowmeters, etc.

  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.  Ensure machinery and equipment is properly maintained for efficient production.

  • Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance and/or management personnel.

  • Verifies adequate stock levels of raw materials and/or component parts.

  • Receives employee phone calls in regard to absences, lateness, etc. and inform management.

  • Reviews employee overtime, vacation, and other time off requests with management.

  • Reviews employee timesheets for accuracy and forwards them to management for approval

  • Provides objective feedback to management in regard to ongoing employee performance and performance appraisals.

  • Assures a timely response and feedback to the resolution of production machining or assembly issues to management.

  • Initiates purchase requisitions for product and MRO materials.

  • Reviews employee suggestions concerning production and assembly areas for feasibility and cost benefit analysis.

  • Assists with building maintenance when required.

  • Overtime may be required for short term or long term duration as business needs mandate.

  • Confers with Engineering Department to review special SA and /or ASY documentation issues.

  • Schedules and review all shop functions related to the 6S system.

  • Communicates daily with management and other employees throughout the department and RSC.

  • Responsibilities could include interviewing, hiring and training employees;Planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;Addressing complaints and resolving problems

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Technical degree from four-year college or university;

  • or minimum five to seven years related experience and/or training;or equivalent combination of education and experience.Bachelor’s Degree or 2-3 yeas related experience and /or training

  • Familiar with metal materials specifications and applicable DIN and/or ANSI standards.

  • Knowledge of machine practices and safety standards.

  • Knowledge of scheduling system and estimating.

  • Knowledge of measuring equipment and machine tools.

  • Ability to use computer and word processing and spreadsheet software.

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills

  • Knowledge of SAP

  • Knowledge of CNC equipment and "One Piece Flow" Assembly processes
