Job Description:

  • Assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties.
  • Maintains and processes all documentation for state disability, long term disability and workers compensation claims.  Interacts with related vendors.  Keeps related logs.
  • Ensures all federal/state postings are in all offices, posted via subordinate.
  • Using the ATS, reviews resumes and works with hiring managers to fill vacancies.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation.
  • Initiate the processing of background checks.
  • Track and Coordinate Travel and Training.
  • Provides information to employees regarding company benefits - Medical, Dental, Long Term Disability, Long Term Care, AFLAC, FMLA, Leaves of Absence, Open Enrollment, Life Insurances, etc.
  • Maintains records and tracks status of those employees on Family Medical and Personal Leaves of Absence.
  • Interacts with medical claims administrator in resolution of employees' claims/enrollment problems.
  • Interacts with insurance consultants regarding various insurance issues (Medical, Short and Long Term Disability, Specified Disease Plan, Supplemental Life, 401(K) plan).
  • Assists in the recommendation, preparation and revision of all handbooks, benefits booklets, policy and procedure manuals, ISO forms, etc.
  • Directs and advises subordinates in the coordination of special company functions, activities, fund raisers, i.e., company gatherings, First Aid/CPR  courses, Driver's Training Programs, American Cancer Society Walk, , Blood Drive, etc.
  • Keeps Director of HR informed of any/all department/company issues.
  • Creates memos relating to benefits programs, benefit changes, other topics, as required.
  • Prepares and checks correspondence, works on special projects for Director of Human Resources as requested.
  • Handles routine phone call inquiries, clerical functions as needed.
  • Complete inquiries/surveys relating to Benefits.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required

Experience and Skills:

  • Associates degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school
  • Minimum 2-5 years Human Resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computer literate
