Job Description:

  • Summary of job contents
  • The Field Service Technician (FST) provides technical onsite support and training to customers. In this customer facing role,  FST‘s are expected to spend a large percentage (50% to 80%)of their time visiting customers to provide technical product support and onsite repairs. 

    • Key accountabilities
    • Work closely with the Service Manager and Service Coordinator to ensure the customers‘ expectations are met.
    • Willingness to travel at a moments notice.
    • Some international travel may be required.
    • Capable of communicating technical issues encountered onsite.
    • Will troubleshoot system failures and repair as needed.
    • Perform installations to ensure machines and equipment are installed in accordance to specifications.
    • Perform or train customers on the maintenance of their equipment
    • Provides technical support and training on Festo products, if required, during customer visits.
    • Will assist the Customer Solutions and/or RSC divisions when not in the field.
    • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

     Core dimensions

     FST will perform onsite repairs, to ensure the end user’s system is brought back to an operational state.

    • Will provide maintenance training to customers on products, as needed.
    • Provides basic technical support for Festo products (i.e Valve Terminals, Cylinders, Air Preparation, etc.)

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of electronics, pneumatics and motion controls.
  • Capable of interpreting mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Associates Degree from a technical College or University. Equivalent knowledge gathered through work experience will be considered.
  • Experience in automation within the machine tool industry. 
  • Allen Bradley PLC, Siemens PLC, and/or knowledge of Festo PLC and HMI a plus.
