Job Description:

Under the direction of the Customer Solutions Engineering Manager or Project Manager, the Customer Solutions Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for basic to moderate electrical and electro-mechanical designs of Automation Systems and Industrial Power Distribution systems.  In addition, the Electrical Design Engineer will also be responsible for supporting existing products with Sustaining Engineering Operations.  This includes but is not limited to: Component Selection, Understanding of Design Specification, Change-Order Processes, Customer Interaction, and BOM Revision/Maintenance.  Collaboration with other Engineers of mechanical, manufacturing, and software disciplines will be required.

  •  Engineering Support of Products throughout the Product’s Lifecycle
  • Specification of Components for existing designs.
  • Modification/Revision of Schematics and Mechanical Drawings in 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (Inventor).
  • Maintaining Bills of Materials for existing designs/projects.
  • Works Closely with Material Procurement (Purchasing).
  • Works closely with Manufacturing on Design/Component Changes to existing Products.
  • Works closely with Manufacturing to update Test Procedures due to Changes in Components/Design.
  • Implementation of Customer and Internal Change-Order Processes.
  • Direct Interaction with Customers on Component/Design Changes.
  • Working within Copy Exact Requirements.
  • Broad understanding of Automation Systems, Control Systems, and Power Distribution Systems Including Electrical Controls, Electrical Distribution, PLC’s, Pneumatics, Actuators, Servo Systems, and Mechanics is Required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • 5 to 7 years of related work experience
  • CAD experience in creation/revision of Electrical Schematics and Panel Layouts required.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of Power Distribution for Industrial Machines a plus.
  • Must be familiar with NED, NFPA-79, SEMI, Copy Exact and UL508 Industry Standards
